Middle ware Lead Engineer (Remote position)

Job Title: Middleware Lead Engineer
Location: WINDSOR CT , BRAINTREE MA, or Jacksonville FL (REMOTE)
Duration: 6 month Contract

Job Details:

This position is a Lead Systems Engineer role on the Data Integration/Platform Engineering team of the Tech Services department

Responsibilities include:
• Developing long term strategy and road maps for our middleware platform tools, specifically webMethods and other tools in the SoftwareAG stack
• Responsible for Governance and oversight of use of middleware platforms by development teams
• Coordination of webMethods software upgrades and patches
• Taking the lead role on all rehosting projects in the Middleware platform space
• Communication and coordination with vendors and other Tech Services teams as necessary as project work demands
• Level 3 support for already established Operations team when issues go beyond "level 1" and need additional research and debugging

 
Desired skills:
• 10 years overall experience with 5+ focused on middleware
• 5+ years experience with and a thorough understanding of SoftwareAG tools and architecture, primarily webMethods
• Experience with latest version of webMethods (9.x) and knowledge of older versions
• Experience as a webMethods developer
• Knowledge and experience with mainframe gateway tools
• Knowledge and experience with enterprise monitoring tools (Foglight preferred)
• Excellent customer communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently when necessary

Nice to have skills:

• Experience with PaaS (Platform as a service) a plus
• Experience with other tools currently in our Middleware stack a plus:
- MQ
- DB2 Connect
- Sybase Direct Connect
